hexadreson 2ml  has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects and has a palliative (supportive) effect in the treatment of the following diseases acute, non-infectious arthritis, periarthritis, bursitis, urticaria, allergic skin diseases, chronic obstructive bronchitis and emphysema.

Bovine:
primary ketosis, urticaria, allergic skin diseases, acute non-infectious arthritis, periarthritis, tendovaginitis.

Pigs:
acute non-infectious arthritis.

Dogs, cats:
allergic skin diseases, acute non-infectious arthritis, periarthritis, bursitis, tendovaginitis
Contraindications

– Known hypersensitivity to dexamethasone-21-dihydrogen phosphate disodium or one of the other ingredients of Hexadreson
– Osteoporotic processes, aseptic bone necrosis, hypocalcemia
– poorly healing wounds and ulcers, fractures, gastrointestinal ulcers
– Cushing’s syndrome, pancreatitis, diabetes mellitus, hypertension
– heart and kidney diseases
– general immunodeficiency, septic processes, bacterial infections, viral infections, mycoses, parasitoses
– active immunization (vaccination)
– cataracts, glaucoma
– pregnancy; Do not use in cattle in the last third of pregnancy

Mares from which milk is to be obtained as food are to be excluded from use.
Side effects

– ACTH suppression, reversible inactivity atrophy of the adrenal cortex
– increased risk of infection due to immunosuppression
– Delayed wound and bone healing, osteoporosis, arthropathy, muscle wasting, growth retardation with disruption of bone growth and damage to the bone matrix
– diabetogenic effects with reduced glucose tolerance, steroid-induced diabetes mellitus and worsening of an existing diabetes mellitus, Cushing’s syndrome
– pancreatitis
– Lowering of the seizure threshold, possible manifestation of latent epilepsy, euphoric effect, states of excitement
– skin atrophy,
– glaucoma, cataract
– Polydipsia, polyphagia, polyuria, weight loss hexadreson 2ml
– gastrointestinal ulcers
– reversible hepatopathy
– tendency to thrombosis
– hypertension
– Sodium retention with edema formation
– increased potassium excretion, hypocalcaemia
– Induction of birth in cattle in the last third of gestation
– temporary reduction in milk yield in cattle
– Glucocorticoid-induced laminitis in horses
– isolated depression in cats, isolated depression or malignancy in dogs
– In very rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions can occur.

Dosage for each species, type and duration of application

Horses, cattle, pigs:
0.06 mg dexamethasone / kg body weight corresponding to 0.03 ml hexadresone / kg body weight

Dogs, cats:
0.1 mg dexamethasone / kg body weight corresponding to 0.05 ml hexadresone / kg body weight

The injection is intramuscular, intravenous or subcutaneous.

Large intra-articular animals:
2 – 10 mg dexamethasone corresponds to 1 – 5 ml hexadreson

Intra- and periarticular small animals:
0.25 – 5 mg dexamethasone corresponds to 0.125 – 2.5 ml hexadreson

Meat and offal: 8 days
Milk: 72 hours

Pig:
Meat and offal: 4 days

Horse:
Meat and offal: 8 days

Do not use on mares whose milk is intended for human consumption.
Special storage instructions

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.
Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the container and outer packaging.
Protect from light.
Shelf life after first opening the container: 28 days
After this period has expired, any remnants of the drug remaining in the container must be discarded.
Special warnings

Special precautions for use in animals:
All injections must be performed under aseptic conditions. Treatment with glucocorticoids such as dexamethasone-21-dihydrogen phosphate disodium can lead to a more severe course of infections. The animal owner must be informed about this possible side effect before the start of therapy and asked to
